Essential Guide to Egypt Travel Visas for Indian Citizens

Indian citizens must obtain a visa to travel to Egypt. Currently, they are not eligible for an electronic visa unless applying as a group or a visa on arrival. The single-entry visa permits stays of up to 30 days and is valid for three months. If travelers leave within the 30-day period, they will need a new visa to re-enter. A multiple-entry visa allows for stays of up to 30 days per visit, valid for 6 months, facilitating travel to neighboring countries before returning to Egypt.

To apply for an Egypt visa, Indian citizens need to go through an embassy or consulate, as both single and multiple-entry visas are sticker/paper visas. The application for a single-entry visa costs approximately Rs 2000 (around 24 USD), while a multiple-entry visa costs about Rs 3000 (around 50 USD). For transit purposes, a transit visa is required if the layover exceeds 48 hours or if travelers intend to leave the airport during this time. Items needed for eVisa applications include passport details and payment methods, but individual eVisas are not available for Indians unless in a group application through an accredited agent.

To promote tourism, the Egyptian government introduced emergency tourism visas for citizens from six countries, including India. This visa lasts for 15 days, provided tourists meet specific criteria such as a confirmed return ticket and hotel reservations. It is essential for Indian travelers to follow the application processes meticulously to ensure a seamless experience, given the various visa types available, including tourism, business, transit, employment, and student visas.
